Greetings!

My name is Matt Ervin and I am the youth director here at Middlefield First United Methodist Church. I have a wonderful family. I love them deeply and enjoy walking through life with them! My wife Kristine and I have two awesome and beautiful children. They are 2 and 4; my son’s name is Christian and my daughter is Gabriella. We have been in the Cleveland area for about 5 years now. Two of those years my wife and I served as a youth and children’s directors in Painesville. Before we moved to this area, my wife and I served with YWAM (youth with a mission) for almost 5 years.

As I look back on our life I am so thankful for the many places the Lord has taken us.
We have been to several countries throughout the world most of them being in Asia.
For two of those years we worked and lived in the Himalayan Mountains of India. I love working with youth and enjoy learning and growing with them. One of the
greatest things any of us can do is walk through life with one another, and that’s what I think of when it comes to youth ministry. In a world filled with highs, lows, temptations, love, hate and every other emotion and circumstance under the sun, it’s important to belong in a community with people who care and love you for who you are. That’s what our youth group is about “belonging, serving and loving”!

I am also passionate about getting involved in our world, locally and globally. Some
may think I am naive but I still believe that we can change the world bringing hope, love and life to some of the forgotten, innocent, oppressed, and marginalized people on the planet.

My family and I are excited to be a part of Middlefield and this church family. We look forward to meeting and serving you all!
